Wonder Of The Seas Itinerary, Current Position, Ship Review Royal Caribbean

The extra-fee venue is open for brunch and dinner and has a lively bar and often a live country music band. The bar area is themed around a front porch, with rocking chairs, a swing and tables tucked into window spaces, while the dining area in the back feels homey and relaxed. That said, I appreciated the perks that came with the Grand Suite perhaps more than I did the extra-large room.

Nothing beats relaxing by a pool with a nice drink in hand as you feel the fresh sea breeze pass by you. The problem is that with thousands of people on a ship, there's not always room. If you want to spend all day in a pool, a cruise might not be the right choice. You would have a much better bet choosing a resort with a huge pool complex.

Wonder of the Seas activities

Across from the massive television overlooking the pool are padded theater chairs. These chairs are accessible throughout the day for guests looking to relax or watch a movie. This area is truly designed to be a destination for suite guests to enjoy with less impetus to leave the suite decks.

Like attractions are grouped together, and the different neighborhoods have different vibes. Instead of having to remember where individual restaurants or theaters are, you learn where each neighborhood is and quickly can get oriented within the huge ship. It has 16 passenger decks, which are divided into eight neighborhoods. It also has two "holes" in the middle of the ship, so certain interior areas of the ship are actually open to the sky. Teens on board Wonder of the Seas have their own indoor and outdoor spaces, Social100 and The Patio. You'll find in this lavish suite an in-suite slide, cinema, and karaoke area, as well as a private balcony and whirlpool.

(Swimwear, bare feet and tank-type T-shirts are not allowed.) One night on our cruise was supposedly Caribbean-themed, but it wasn't enforced. Also not yet ready for prime time on our sailing were the parades down the Royal Promenade. We did catch part of a rehearsal for a pirate-themed parade, and the "floats" and costumes were fun. If you've got little kids, keep an eye out for the parade in your daily planner.

The casitas on Wonder of the Seas are all located on the upper pool deck on deck 16. With so many restaurants included in your cruise fare, it’s entirely possible to eat only at the complimentary venues on Wonder of the Seas. From Mediterranean-inspired dinners at Solarium Bistro to American breakfast at Johnny Rockets, it’s unlikely you’ll get bored with the complimentary restaurants available.

Specialty restaurants come at an extra cost, but offer cuisines and dining experiences not found elsewhere onboard. The late-night menu (served after 9 PM) has various items priced between $3-9, including Fried Green Tomatoes, Blue Crab Beignets, Crispy Fried Chicken Sandwich. Per person pricing/cover charges are US$25 (Brunch) and US$40 (Dinner), children 6-12 dine for US$11, kids under 6 dine for free. Accessible staterooms on Wonder and all Royal Caribbean ships are designed especially for guests with mobility disabilities and other disabilities. The five-foot turning radius in sleeping areas and bathrooms is another notable feature as are carefully designed sitting areas. After booking an accessible stateroom, Royal Caribbean requires that special needs guests acknowledge their need for an accessible stateroom by completing an online form.

Boardwalk

The 2022-built Wonder of the Seas cruise ship is the third RCI "Oasis-Plus" class liner, with sisterships Harmony OTS (2016), Symphony OTS (2018) and Utopia OTS (2024). Wonder OTS just slightly exceeds in size the original Oasis-class vessels Oasis OTS (2009) and Allure OTS (2010). The vessel has a building cost of USD 1,35 billion (2019 shiporder rates). Week-long cruises usually include two formal nights (usually twice on a weeklong cruise), but otherwise casual dress is acceptable. While black tie is no longer expected, most guests do tend to get more dressed up in the evening when going to dinner in the Main Dining Room or at one of the ship’s more upscale restaurants.

LIGHT UP THE NIGHT

Sky and Star Suite guests have more downtime redefining room to unwind than ever before — indoors and out. Like the dedicated Suite Lounge with a full bar and hors d' oeuvres served daily just steps from the Sun Deck. Two nights were deemed "dress your best" or formal, and you'll find a range of interpretations of dressy attire.

She is currently the largest cruise ship in the world, taking the title from her sister ship Symphony of the Seas. At 1,188 feet long, 210 feet wide, and with a gross tonnage of 236,857, Wonder of the Seas is a massive vessel. Wonder of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world, measuring over 1,100 feet in length and featuring a capacity for almost 7,000 passengers. Unlike the other Oasis-Class ships, Wonder OTS has an additional (8th) neighborhood that houses Suites and Suite-only facilities. The "Suite Class Neighborhood" (located midship-aft on decks 17-18) is designed as an exclusive VIP accommodation complex with its own Restaurant, Bar Lounge, Sundeck.

The entire staff was pleasant and wonderful, from the bartenders to the waitstaff. They were all super engaging and ready to accommodate, and each had their own unique stories. The woman who cleaned my room greeted me every morning with a smile and by name and was always ready to chat about what I did onboard the previous day. Relax, unwind and make yourself at home after a full day of adventure.

Izumi Teppanyaki Restaurant features a la carte hibachi, teppanyaki and sushi menu. The Ultimate Family Suite is unique for RCI loft suite featuring a slide (from the kid's bedroom down to the living room), floor-ceiling LEGO wall, hidden nooks for a chilling, air-hockey table. A 3D movie theatre-style TV room is fitted with a popcorn machine and a library of video games. The 210 ft2 wraparound balcony has a bumper pool table, kids climbers and a full-size whirlpool. Currently the largest "Family Suite" at sea accommodates up to 8 passengers.

Both serve Starbucks coffee for a fee, but the snacks at Cafe Promenade are free, while the ones at Starbucks cost extra. You can order smoothies and juices for a price at the Vitality Cafe in the spa. Central Park is the hub for date night, with 150 Central Park (the fanciest restaurant on board), Chops Grille (steakhouse) and Giovanni's Italian Kitchen. It definitely felt more like a luxury hotel than a standard Royal Caribbean cruise cabin, but to be honest, I found the decor a bit bland. My colleague Ashley Kosciolek, also on the sailing with us, made a point to try every activity on board, and it took her more than a day to sample everything.

I can't think of any place, resorts included, that provides the same things that this cruise did. With just the standard package, you can have dinner, see a show, hit the pools, and take a turn at karaoke—all for no additional charge. Those who catch COVID during the cruise will be required to stay in their rooms, and food and drink will be delivered to their door at mealtimes.

Is Wonder of the Seas the ultimate cruise ship for family vacationers? As a mother of two, I am well aware that my friends with kids seek out Royal Caribbean's enormous, attraction-laden Oasis-class cruise ships when they want to take their kids on a cruise. But I'd never sailed on one of these world's largest cruise ships and was curious if I'd find a 6,988-passenger behemoth endlessly entertaining with tons of fun for kids and adults or an overcrowded mess. Ocean View and Balcony cabins may be more ideally suited for those who want to access fresh air from the comfort of their room. Balconies are furnished with chairs and a small table allowing cruisers to take their morning coffee al fresco, in their PJs if they like!

This southern-inspired restaurant and bar features live country music, brunch, and cozy decor. It, along with the majority of other restaurants (11 of 20) on board come with a surcharge for brunch, lunch and dinner. Another way to gauge the cost of a cruise is to consider how much you'll spend on board. Even though a lot is included in the base cruise fare, you may still spend money on things like spa treatments, specialty dining, drinks, and excursions. In addition, guests can also have to pay for things like gratuities and tips.
